Image of Memory Series - #1
My Father and I were out deep sea fishing for some bonding time. He's getting older and chartered a fishing expedition for us up in Sitka, Alaska. He says its for me to have memories of us when he's no longer here. Of course that made me sad and think about time and how we spend it. While sitting along side one another with our lines in the water another charter happened by with some amazing clouds framing it. I quickly grabbed the camera and snapped some shots! Let me tell ya, balancing on a boat in the deep sea hand holding the camera with a telephoto lens and trying to keep the horizon straight is a challenge! Yep, that was a shot taken out of the camera, no horizon leveling needed! Needless to say, processing this image made me think of so many things, mostly how to represent it. I changed it up this time to add drama and a more artistic touch in terms of rendering. What I came away with was this amazing image of fisherman enjoying each others company while out on the open sea. I can still hear them laughing when I look at this image, which in turn will always remind me of my Dad and the time we had on this trip, enjoying the company and laughter of it all. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
